Short summary
Late infection after intramedullary nailing can involve the fracture site, nail entry site, medullary canal, and screw tracts. In 47 patients, a staged protocol combining nail removal, multi-regional debridement, temporary cement placement, and later reconstruction achieved infection control and bone union in most patients.
